January Chapter Meeting
Saturday, January 28, 2012
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

We hope you will plan to join us at the Tempo Restaurant in Alexandria for our January meeting with Carol Donayre (dough-nigh-ray) Bugg of Decorating Den Interiors. In her presentation, Carol highlights the enduring contributions by legendary women who have left their mark on the world of design. For those of us in the realm of fashion, design and image the inspirational stories behind these legends is a great way to get the creative juices flowing for the brand new year!

AICI WDC is involved in Image for a Cause. Our January Chapter Philanthropic Effort is the Capital Area Food Bank that serves those in need and suffering with hunger. We are requesting non-perishable food items. And disposable diapers are always needed and welcomed!

The January 2012 AICI WDC Chapter Award will be given to the person donating the most items. Bring a bag or two of food and necessities to help our friends in need. The food bank shelves stock is very low and they need our assistance.

Introducing our January Meeting Partner

Carol Donayre Bugg is Vice President and Director of Design, and co-owner with her husband Jim of Decorating Den Interiors, the largest interior decorating franchise in North America.

She was formally educated at the International Institute of Interior Design in Washington DC and attended the Parsons School of Design in Paris. Carol is a long time member of the American Society of Interior Designers.

Prior to association with Decorating Den Interiors, Carol owned her own model home interior design business. She has lectured at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC and appeared on a variety of networks and cable television shows, and most recently was interviewed by Mario Bosquez on Martha Stewart's radio show, LIVING TODAY.

Carol has also designed fabrics in tribute to American First Ladies Barbara Bush and Hillary Clinton. But, her favorite fabric is Partner's Legacy, a black and white toile she designed in honor of her Labrador Retriever where the proceeds of sales went to "Leader Dogs for the Blind."

These days she combines her two loves, decorating and writing which allows her to feature the extraordinary dream room makeover stories of Decorating Den Interiors' talented interior decorators and their designs. Carol will have her latest book Decorating. . . The Personal Touch for signing. Ten dollars of the $20 book cost will support the Yellow Ribbon Fund.
